Pigs in Pipeline Pigging Equipment
Pigs are the primary components of pigging equipment. They come in different types, including cleaning pigs, sealing pigs, and inspection pigs. Cleaning pigs, such as foam pigs and brush pigs, remove debris and buildup from pipeline walls. Sealing pigs, like cup pigs and solid cast pigs, create tight seals to separate different products or remove liquids. Inspection pigs, or smart pigs, are equipped with sensors to detect corrosion, cracks, and other pipeline anomalies.

Launchers and Receivers
Launchers and receivers are essential for inserting and retrieving pigs from the pipeline. A launcher propels the pig into the pipeline, while a receiver captures and removes it at the end of its run. These devices are designed to handle high pressures and ensure safe and efficient pigging operations.
Pig Signallers
Pig signallers, also known as pig detectors, monitor the progress of pigs through the pipeline. These devices provide real-time data on pig location, ensuring accurate tracking and timely interventions if needed. Intrusive type pig signallers detect the physical presence of pigs, while non-intrusive signallers use sensors to detect magnetic or acoustic signals.
Quick Opening Closures
Quick opening closures provide fast and secure access to pipelines and pressure vessels, facilitating easy insertion and removal of pigs. Types of quick opening closures include bayonet, clamp, and lockring closures. These closures are designed to handle high-pressure environments and ensure safety during pigging operations.

Pig Tracking Systems
Pig tracking systems use advanced technology to monitor the movement and location of pigs within the pipeline. Therefore, these systems often include GPS, RFID, or acoustic sensors to provide precise tracking data. This information helps operators optimize pigging schedules and ensure thorough pipeline maintenance.
Accessories
Various accessories support pigging operations, including pig passage indicators, magnetic pigging tools, and specialized cleaning brushes. These tools enhance the effectiveness of pigging activities and ensure the thorough cleaning and maintenance of pipelines.
